ACOG Medical Student Recruitment Award

ACOG remains active in supporting efforts to foster medical student interest and to recruit the best and brightest into our field. In recent years, many individuals have developed novel initiatives and programs which have enhanced ACOG’s medical student recruitment efforts at the Section, District, and National levels.

Overview

The ACOG Medical Student Recruitment Award honors ACOG Fellows and Junior Fellows* who demonstrate outstanding leadership, dedication, and impact in recruiting and engaging medical students interested in obstetrics and gynecology. Highlighting individuals making a significant difference at the regional or national level.

*Medical Students are not eligible for this award.

Nomination Requirements

During an open award cycle, you can nominate an outstanding leader by completing an online nomination form with the following information:

  • Nominee’s name
  • District and Section
  • Current practice/institution
  • Statement of why the nominee deserves the award (600 words max), including a description of leadership contributions, such as initiatives, activities, or strategies to inspire medical students; interest in obstetrics and gynecology; and any other involvement with ACOG.

Award Cycle Status

The 2026 award cycle has concluded, and award recipients have been selected. We are no longer accepting nominations at this time.

2026 Recipients

Antonia Francis Oladipo, MD, MSCI, FACOG
A double board-certified ob-gyn and maternal–fetal medicine specialist, Dr. Oladipo is a clinician–scientist and leader dedicated to advancing research, education, advocacy, and compassionate care. Through her impactful mentorship and innovative approach, she has transformed how medical students grow into leaders—expanding pathways into the specialty and shaping the future of women’s health.

Paris Stowers, MD, FACOG
An associate professor at the University of Hawai‘i, Dr. Stowers is a dedicated clinician, educator, and mentor shaping the future of obstetrics and gynecology. Through her leadership with ACOG District VIII’s Medical Student Advisory Council, she has built a thriving program that fosters connection, advocacy, and professional growth—empowering students to find their path and passion in the specialty.
